The first thing to know is that if you're going to be a successful indie band, all you have to do is put one to two random adjectives and a nouns together. "Frightened Rabbit," "Death Cab for Cutie," "Vampire Weekend." Please, just draw some words out of a hat and you've got yourself a record deal. I was saving "Obvious Ninja" for my indie band; however, since I have neither the musical aptitude nor the fashion sense to be a band leader (and I would absolutely be the leader), I decided this blog is a much better venue.
Who I am doesn't matter. If you ever meet me, it will be obvious, obviously. What does matter is that you read this blog, and read it a lot, and that you tell your friends and they read it a lot, and they tell their friends...
I have no chance of getting picked up for a book deal based solely on this blog if you don't commit to this, so I need your help. Do you hear me? No chance without you!
I realize this is a big commitment, and we don't even really know each other that well, so, here's what I will commit to you for making this commitment to me:
1. Proper grammar will be used. No "you're/your" mishaps, no "there/their" debacles. Trust me, you will not be put off by prepositions at the end of a sentence or the use of the non-word "supposebly." Although, I can't promise I won't misspell something. I'm a terrible speller. I once, for about three months, used "defiantly" instead of "definitely," which convey two very different meanings.
Hooked yet? No? Okay well I'm not done.
2. You will be delighted by humor and wit every time I post something (which may or may not be that often, I really don't know how much time I can commit to this with my other ninja priorities). Don't worry though, I am defiantly going to write this blog at least once a week.
Fine, you drive a hard bargain. Final offer:
3. Tuesdays are now officially "Taco Tuesdays."
There, I basically rewrote the week just for you. So please, keep reading.
All the best,
Stella
